Summary
Findings
· Because responses were consistent among married and divorced couples, it is very likely
that we could use a different set of top five features and receive the same results.
· The consistency in responses also might cause feature importance to return a different
set of top five features each time it is ran.
· Many responses don’t seem sensible at first glance but are reinforced by the results
of the models. This suggests that cultural influences might be in play. (i.e. 89.5% of married
couples responded that they never enjoy holidays with their spouse, while only 4.8% of divorced
couples answered the same).
· Cultural norms, such as arranged marriages, can have a great impact on responses and
therefore predictions of future data. Turkey has a lot of cultural norms around marriage that are
rapidly changing.
Future Exploration
· Because of cultural norms around marriage in Turkey, it would be interesting to
explore the difference in responses by generation and gender. Age and gender are not available
in the current data set.
· Explore possibilities of why results are so polarized. Many answers from divorced
respondents suggest that they believed they really knew their former spouse. It would be
beneficial to explore the psychological components at play in these responses.
· Analyze other countries for comparison. Are results similar by region, continent,
etc.?
